Things to Do Around Bournemouth
Around Bournemouth are several family attractions which are great when you want a change from the seaside attractions. Adventure Wonderland and Snowtrax provide a huge range of amusements for all the family. Adventure Wonderland is specifically geared to families with young children and has a plethora of rides and games that'll make it hard to tear them away! Snowtrax is a ski and snowboarding centre where the mist-lubricated surface means you can use it all year round.
For those wanting a quieter time there is a good range of countryside and nature reserves all around Bournemouth and Christchurch encompassing heathlands, meadows and marshes. The Rivers Stour and Avon flow down through the county ending at Christchurch and there are two long distance walking routes the will take you along their banks and through some beautiful countryside.

Adventure Wonderland near Bournemouth
Just to the north of Bournemouth itself is Adventure Wonderland - a fun packed theme park for younger children and families.
Adventure Wonderland has a huge range of attractions including rides like the Ghostly Galleon and the Runaway Train as well as the Wild Thing adventure climbing area. There are also things to do like karting, trampolining and finding your way out of the Alice in Wonderland Maze. Definitely plenty to keep the whole family entertained for the day. There are several cafes and snack shacks within the Adventure Wonderland Park and there are often additional events in the summer. Snowtrax Outdoor Activity Centre
If you fancy something a little more adventurous try Snowtrax Outdoor Activity Centre. This is a purpose built ski and snowboarding centre where you can also have a go at ski-bobbing or ringoing.
You can have a day out having fun on the slopes, book yourself into skiing or snowboarding lessons or try the Adventure Park with overhead cable ride, slides, swings and trampolines.
There's also an Alpine Bar Restaurant on site for refreshments and parties and corporate functions can also be organised here or in dedicated function rooms. There is also a shop on site for all snow sport related items.

Countryside Walks Around Bournemouth
All around Bournemouth and Christchurch are accessible heathland and meadow nature reserves. With the Rivers Avon and Stour flowing around the outskirts of Bournemouth and down into Christchurch there are plenty of riverside walks.
The Avon Valley Path actually starts at Salisbury in Wiltshire and travels 34 miles south through East Dorset to Christchurch. The route is sub-divided into five sections which taken individually make a good day out walking. The Avon is a chalk river with abundant wildlife along its banks including water and hay meadows, ditches and streams which are excellent for birdwatching. The Stour Valley Way starts in Christchurch and wends its way 64 miles north to Stourhead in Wiltshire. The route follows the River Stour from the sea at Christchurch through the Dorset countryside and historic towns of Wimborne Minster, Blandford Forum and Sturminster Newton. The path is marked by a distinctive kingfisher logo and a leaflet is available with further information about the route and the sights along the way.
