The five star awarded Watermeadow House B&B and attached self catering holiday cottages are set in the small village of Hooke in Dorset. The village is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and at its heart stands the tiny 15th Century church of St Giles. The village grew around the wool trade though its population declined once the industry declined and never regained its former size. The surrounding countryside offers numerous pleasant walks suitable for all levels of walkers, the perfect way to explore the area's woods and country lanes.

The ancient town of Beaminster is the nearest population centre and a collection of shops and pubs are clustered around the old market square. The nearby Broadwindsor Craft Centre is a complex selling local and imported craft ware and has a restaurant serving light refreshments. Just south of here is the seaside town on Bridport and its neighbour, West Bay, perhaps better known now as 'Bridehaven' in the popular TV series ' Harbour Lights'. Chesil Beach, Portland, Yeovil, Dorchester and Weymouth can all be reached easily.

Rooms Description

We have two self catering holiday cottages sleeping 8 and 8/9, each situated in the village just a short walk from the farm. Each features a well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, microwave, toaster, washing machine and cutlery. Each has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, ideal for family holidays in the heart of rural Dorset. The bed and breakfast offers a large family room with dining table, chairs and settee and a double room with seating area. Both rooms have a hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge and a colour television. Breakfast is served in the sunroom and features free range eggs and organic sausages.

Specialities

The B&B is set on a 300 acre dairy farm with 100 Fresian cows and is family run.
