The Old Coastguards Holiday Cottages - Abbotsbury

4 star Dorset cottages by the sea with 17 miles of beach at the end of the garden. Family friendly. Short breaks.Walking, fishing, bird watching. Sleeps up to 8

Imagine a magical family holiday by the sea in a self catering holiday cottage with 17 miles of the almost deserted Chesil Beach at the end of the garden! At The Old Coastguards Holiday Cottages, you don't need to imagine. We are perfectly located on Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Marvel at our stunning panoramic views of the sea and the Dorset Coast, this is the ideal place for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottages are located in a beautiful rural position, on the edge of England's popular West Country and just 5 miles from the picturesque village of Abbotsbury. These 4 star, luxury, old coastguards cottages are ideal for short breaks and family holidays, ideally set on Chesil Beach.

With the almost always present background sound of the sea there is a historic feeling to these old coastguards cottages. They are in a really quiet seaside location: all boast stunning sea views along the coast and across the whole expanse of Lyme Bay - notorious for smuggling years ago. Now they are ideal for walking holidays, fishing, cycling, fossil hunting and bird watching or just relaxing in the gardens or on the quarterdeck overlooking the sea. Which is probably why they are popular with families, couples, honeymooners, friends and fishermen alike. The historic village of Abbotsbury is nearby with craft galleries, pubs and tea rooms as are the famous Abbotsbury Swannery and SubTropical Gardens. There is an amazing variety of things to see and do in Dorset and East Devon including breathtaking walks along the Dorset Coast. a fishing boat trip out of West Bay or Weymouth has proved popular with many of our visitors. Weymouth, Portland, Bridport and the county town of Dorchester are all within 10 miles. There is really good eating out locally and outstanding local Dorset produce, including really excellent bread, freshly caught fish, meat, cheeses and vegetables.
