Visit his birthplace at Higher Bockhampton near the county town of Dorchester. Inland is Cerne Abbas with the hillside giant and to the north is Shaftsbury with Gold Hill, the setting for the famous Hovis advert. A variety of historic houses, gardens and museums can be found in a 30 mile radius and Beaminster is just 3 miles away with an excellent selection of shops and cafes.
